Are Energy Drinks Really Safe?

So, are energy drinks really bad for your health?  Go to any convenience stor, liquor store or aisle of most grocery stores and the shelves are stocked with several different brands of “energy drinks” such as Red Bull, Monster, Full Throttle and Rockstar, to name just a few.  A close examination of the ingredients in these beverages reveals a large dose of caffeine and an unknown quantity of sugar, a sure warning sign that the drink is not good for you. Chelmsford Starts Safety Training Program

The safety of our municipal workers is a paramount issue since they are responsible for our public infrastructure, transportation and safety that affects millions of people.  Work zone accidents on public roads are a concern because workers are vulnerable to a variety of hazards including distracted and otherwise negligent motorists.  To combat this problem the city of Chelmsford recently sent 19 city workers to a program called Work Zone Safety Training that was conducted at the Chelmsford Police Department.  The 6-hour seminar was funded by the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association, the property and casualty provider for the municipality.

Former Police Chief Offers His Views on Uber

Ed Davis, a former Boston police chief, recently offered strong criticisms of the taxi services his office monitored during his relatively brief tenure.  Davis, who served as the city’s police commissioner from 2006 to 2013, relayed the statements shortly after his appointment to Uber’s new safety advisory board. Are HoverBoards Safe? Short Answer: No

Hoverboards have been in the news recently after a spate of fires engulfed the devices and in some cases, the house or structure where it was charging.  The boards do not literally hover, of course, as its name was derived from a levitating skateboard ridden by the main character in one of the “Back to the Future” films.  In reality, these are motorized self-balancing scooters that operators control with their feet.  Though extremely popular, concerns have arisen over their safety.
